It is really too bad that so few men put these horseshoe taps (that's what I call them) on their boots and shoes. They make for a real strong presence wherever you go. You definitely have to know the width of your heels, though, to pick out the right size plates. The plates should be flush with the side and rear of your heels, maybe even coming over the edge, but just a tiny bit. And I've even been known to put them on my own boots, loafers, and flats ;-) , but I started with the smaller crescent-shaped taps, then worked up to these.
