Keeps shoes looking new and comfortable. In the past, without the use of shoe trees, my shoes would eventually become tighter and uncomfortable to wear and the leather would wrinkle. The cedar, although priced much more than the plastic alternative, helps to minimize these problems. Now, with the use of the cedar, my shoes appear to maintain their original shape thus preventing cracks and unsightly wrinkles and are still comfortable to wear without any tightness in the shoe. However, I've also used the plastic tree with good success so it's a matter of personal taste. The cedar is easier to handle and install into the shoe and fills more of the area of the shoe!
